In our office, there is a fully equipped sterilization area that meets the strictest hygiene and safety standards.
All dental instruments are cleaned in an ultrasonic bath and then autoclaved (Class B certified – the safest category of sterilization units).
In the field of sterilization, we maintain a high level of cleanliness using the most appropriate methods for the safety of our patients.
ELECTRICAL HANDPIECES
The traditional dental handpiece is air driven. The compressed air drives a turbine in the head of the handpiece, producing a high-pitched, often anxiety-provoking noise and vibration. Our electric handpieces are powered by an extremely quiet electric motor, with much greater strength (torque) and precision than air-driven equipment.
This advanced technology not only enhances comfort but also allows for more conservative tooth preparation, preserving more of your natural tooth structure. Patients often report a noticeably smoother and more pleasant treatment experience.
This vastly improved handpiece design can reduce the time you spend in the chair and may significantly improve the quality and fit of your final restorations.
PIEZOSURGERY
We use piezosurgery equipment for many oral surgery procedures. This method allows milder management of the oral soft tissues (gums, blood vessels, nerves and membranes in very sensitive areas such as the sinuses).
Using the standard milling cutting tools in some cases can be traumatic. Instead, the ultrasonic vibrations generated by specialized devices offer unparalleled piezosurgery precision and comfort for the physician and patient.
DENTAL UNITS
One of the most important aspects of the development of Barbetseas Dental Clinic was the choice of dental units. Keeping always in mind the patient's hygiene and comfort, as well as sterilization and ergonomics, the top dental units on the market have been chosen. In our dental chairs, patients feel comfortable, while the doctors perform all kinds of dental treatment with great ergonomics and everything within reach.
With the dental units of XO, ergonomics and workflow have been increased, since top quality dental care can be performed easier. The professional design of the seats is pleasing to the patient, as the angle of cutting instruments ensures they are out of sight and reach. Another reason why fear has no place in Barbetseas Dental Clinic.
The dental units are controlled only by a foot pedal, so the doctor comes in contact only with sterile surfaces during treatment. All cutting instruments and unit handles can be sterilized, ensuring a 100% microbiologically controlled environment.
The machines are equipped with the most advanced digital technology, including digital screens for viewing intraoral x-rays, panoramic x-rays, Dental Scan slices, and intraoral camera footage. The patient is immediately informed about oral health issues, and doctors have all data available to plan and treat even the most complex and demanding cases. During treatment, the digital screens display entertaining content (movies, documentaries), allowing patients to fully relax and enjoy a truly pleasant dental experience.
DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY
We use digital radiography technology, which has significant advantages over film-based radiography, including far less radiation and greater efficiency. There is no need for processing in a darkroom. Images quickly appear on the computer monitors in our treatment rooms, and they can be instantly shared for consultation by any or all of our specialized dentists.
These images can also be e-mailed to other dentists or providers. We have many patients that come from distant places of Greece. and many who travel from around the globe to receive treatment in our practice, and we are able to share their digital images with their referring dentists anywhere in the world.
The images can be transmitted to patients’ insurance companies quickly and efficiently.
We are also able to display them on the computer monitors in our treatments rooms for enhanced patient education.
DIGITAL PANORAMIC & CBCT
Truly one of the most important imaging and diagnostic breakthroughs in modern dentistry, cone beam CT provides 3D images of the jaw structures and teeth, with extraordinary accuracy and detail. It has become the gold standard for patient care in implant dentistry.
The 3D images enable us implant to plan our surgery so we are able to avoid causing damage to nerves and to vital structures, including blood vessels and the sinuses.
Virtual surgery can be performed and evaluated before actually surgery takes place. And since we have our own 3-D Dental Scan machine, we can, during a delicate surgical procedure, stop to take an additional scan, if warranted. This gives us the ability to maintain the safest possible conditions, even in the most difficult surgical situations.
Barbetseas Dental Clinic is one of the few dental practices to provide in-office cone beam CT and panoramic x-rays. Most practices have to send their patients to an outside imaging center.
This equipment defines “state of the art”. Our cone beam CT CS8200, operated by our expertly trained staff, offers maximum convenience, safety and precision. These 3D films of the jaws and the surrounding structures may, in some instances, allow us to detect potential problematic lesions of the head and neck.
DENTAL LASER
